Pserv.cpl has a nice feature that lets you import files to pserv.xml and compare the current set of running services. To give a simple example: You install Windows XP and then manually disable all those "reliable" services with funny names like "Automatic Updates" and other material. However, the next time you do windows update, there they are again.

But now you can fight back. With PServ.cpl, you can disable all services you no longer want, and save the settings as an XML file. Then when you want to get the new settings, select the XML template. A dialog box will show all the changes to the current service configuration.
